WWE Files Trademark For New NXT Ring Name
The name changes keep on coming for WWE.
There have been plenty of name changes within WWE over the last few months. Many of the changes have been related to NXT call-ups or transitioning NXT UK talent. Over the past few months, we have seen several talents change their names including Kay Lee Ray, Walter/Gunther, Ludwig Kaiser and more.
It appears WWE are now looking to trademark another new ring name. The latest, filed with the US Patent and Trademark Office on May 12, is for the name “Ava Raine.” Thus far, nobody has used the moniker, so it will be interesting to see who winds up with the new name. WWE frequently debuts wrestlers shortly after filing for trademarks, so we should know soon. Below is the filing:
“Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment”
