WWE Struggling To Find New Opponent For Ronda Rousey
It looks like Sasha Banks and Naomi’s walkout will have a large domino effect on the WWE.
When Naomi and Sasha Banks walked out of Monday’s RAW taping, it was said that they had creative issues with the company. WWE would release a statement during the show regarding their walkout. Also worth noting is the fact WWE were planning on the tag champs facing Bianca Belair and Ronda Rousey in singles matches for the RAW and SmackDown Women’s Championships at Hell In A Cell.
The fate of the SmackDown championship scene is still up in the air, according to Dave Meltzer in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
“There will likely be a few matches strongly pushed on Smackdown this week. A key would be a new Rousey opponent. Unless Naomi or Sasha Banks returns, or they send Rhea Ripley over, the pickings are slim with Natalya and Shayna Baszler as the top contenders. Natalya is friends with Rousey and possibly could have a great PPV match with her since they did a TV match on Rousey’s first run that was very good, and Baszler and Rousey are best friends and it would likely be a dream match for both of them.”
