It appears everyone’s most hated wrestling couple will get to team up in AEW after all.
Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti have had a strange few months. Guevara has held the TNT title repeatedly while Conti has challenged both Britt Baker and Jade Cargill for the two women’s championships previously. They were originally supposed to face Ethan Page and Paige VanZant in a mixed tag team match but this match got cancelled.
On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed the plans for Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti at Double or Nothing. As of this weekend, AEW has the mixed tag match featuring Conti and Guevara against Lambert’s team on the books. The bout is expected to be made official during this week’s episode of Dynamite.
“I think that that match is on the pay-per-view. I was outright told over the weekend that it was listed. Until it’s announced, it’s not announced. They could do it a different way, but I was outright told that that match is tentatively scheduled for the pay-per-view.”
“That would probably be where they would do it. But, you know, we’ll see. That’ll probably go down on Wednesday’s show, I’m going to guess.”
