WWE Expected Stokely Hathaway To Join AEW Following Release

Sunday night was a chaotic night in Las Vegas as AEW presented their Double Or Nothing PPV. The show went down well with fans, with some surprises that were revealed being met with great praise. Of course, one of those surprises would turn out to be Stokely Hathaway, formerly known as Malcolm Bivens, who would storm to the ring and appears to be Jade Cargill’s new manager.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE assumed that Stokely Hathaway was going to AEW when he decided to reject a main roster contract.

The WWE people on the day he was fired, it came out he wouldn’t sign a new contract. They were all basically saying he was going to AEW. If you turn down the main roster, the assumption is you want to go to AEW.
