Hangman Adam Page was a great AEW World Champion.
At AEW Double Or Nothing last weekend we witnessed an epic card that culminated in a world title match between Hangman Page and CM Punk. During the match, the referee was knocked down, bringing the AEW world title into play as a weapon. Page would pick up the belt and momentarily appeared to want to hit Punk with the title. However, Page would not do it, going for a Buckshot Lariat instead which would lead to a GTS and Punk scoring the pinfall, taking the title off Page.
Taking to social media, Page issued the following statement on his loss:
i’ve had a while to reflect on my time as aew champion now that it’s come to an end. thank you all, not for supporting me, but for supporting the vision. it’s not about the gold or the glory, it’s about the common love and dignity with which we treat each other. change the world

An interesting reaction in character for Hangman Adam Page, but this is likely a thank you that is from the bottom of Page’s heart for fans.
