Johnny Elite is still not full signed with the company. Making his debut a few weeks ago as the Joker in the Owen Hart Foundation tournament, he would lose to Samoa Joe after a great match on Dynamite. He also appeared on this weeks Dynamite, facing the returning Miro, losing yet again. Johnny has won in Dark and Elevation.
It was reported after his first appearance that Tony Khan was open to bringing Johnny Elite in for more dates but that the former WWE superstar was not signed full-time. That appears to be the case here, as it has been confirmed by Fightful that Johnny has not signed with the company. He could be booked further by AEW on a per appearance basis.

Of course Johnny Elite still may sign full time with the promotion and Tony Khan clearly likes the star and would like to keep booking him in AEW going forward.
