And who could blame him?
CM Punk has been in AEW for a year now and it looks like he’s gonna stay there until the day he hangs up his boots. He is the current AEW World Champion, but is scheduled for surgery later this week. in the meantime, an AEW Interim World Champion will be crowned at AEW Forbidden Door and tonight the road to the interim title begins.
While speaking on Busted Open Radio, Tony Khan talked about CM Punk’s injury. Khan admitted in the interview that Punk’s surgery was causing him to be very nervous:
”It is a setback, but we’re really excited to get CM Punk back. He’s going to have surgery here quickly and I’m very nervous, but pretty optimistic because he’s going to be seeing one of the top doctors in the entire world and someone really renowned in sports medicine. We were fortunate to get him in quickly. We’re excited to get him back.”

Clearly, Tony is remaining positive in the wake of Punk’s injury. It is good that they were able to get him into surgery and on the road to recovery as fast as they did.
