It looks like Cena’s return will include a match at SummerSlam.
It is currently John Cena month in WWE as they celebrate 20 years of the 16 time world champion. For a long time there has been talk of United States Champion Theory facing Cena, with Theory repeatedly calling for the match with John. However, it felt like it was more a just in case thing, until now.
In this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer talked about the plan for John Cena’s return to WWE. The plan is likely to be a match with US Champion Theory, with Cena giving the brash young performer the rub in the match.
“Cena returns on the 6/27 Raw show in Laredo, TX. While this has not been confirmed to us by the company, the talk in wrestling is that it will be Cena vs. Theory at SummerSlam with the idea that working with Cena will bring Theory up to a higher level.”

Time will tell if Cena’s match with Theory will be set up prior to Money In The Bank, seeing as Cena will be in the building for RAW on the 27th of June.
