We now know when Roman Reigns will make the first defense of his Unified World Titles.
Tonight on Friday Night Smackdown, Matt Riddle faced Sami Zayn in a match with heavy stakes. If Riddle lost, he would be barred from SmackDown permanently but if Riddle won, he would face Roman Reigns next week on Smackdown and when the bell rang, Riddle stood in the ring the victor.
This means Roman is officially booked for his first title defense on next week’s SmackDown. Roman has not wrestled a title match since WrestleMania 38. Reigns has since scaled back his in ring schedule, not appearing at Hell In A Cell earlier this month.
