Joanna Jedrzejczyk Announces Retirement Following Loss at UFC 275

The former Strawweight champion has hung up the gloves after a 10-year career in MMA.

Jedrzejczyk first discovered Muay-Thai when she was 16, after spending 10 years competing in the sport + Kickboxing, she would make the transition to MMA where in 2014 she arrived in the UFC and in under a year would win the Strawweight championship after defeating Carla Esparza at UFC 185.

She came into this fight after taking 2 years away from the sport, she went on to enjoy her life for the time being before making her way back to the octagon. Jedrzejczyk survived the 1st round GnP attack from Weili, but it would be the 2nd round where we’d witness Weili land a spinning backfist to walk away with the victory.

The former queen of the division spoke after the loss where she thanked the fans for the support, spoke about how long she has been in the fight game for and then announced her retirement where she said she wants to be a mom.

Jedrzejczyk walks away from the sport a former Strawweight champion and the only woman to defend the belt 5 times, she left it on the line every fight and is a first ballot Hall of Famer.
