Kurt Angle Reveals Vince McMahon Suspended A WWE Talent For Unwritten Rule Break

Vince McMahon has a set of rules that usually wouldn’t apply to other pro wrestling promotions. He has a set of terms that are not allowed to be used on WWE television and usually everything goes through him with regards to what makes it to TV and what doesn’t. Vince also handles many talent issues, including suspensions.

While speaking on his The Kurt Angle Show podcast, WWE Hall Of Famer Kurt Angle revealed how one of the unsaid rules of the business is to thank the person back when they thank you. He recalled how Vince McMahon suspended a WWE talent for breaking the rule.

“You know, when you say thank you, and the person says, you’re welcome, that’s usually the proper way to say it. But in pro wrestling, when you say thank you, the other person is supposed to say thank you back. So it’s like, ‘thank you,’ ‘No, thank you.’ You don’t say you’re welcome.”

“I was told one time a wrestler told Vince, Vince said, ‘Hey, thank you for the match tonight.’ He said, ‘You’re welcome’. Vince actually took him off the roster for about a month and basically suspended him for a month because he didn’t say thank you, he said, ‘You’re welcome.’”

It is not known who the talent was that got the rule wrong, but it is one hell of a punishment to take the talent off TV for a month. All in the mind of Vince McMahon.
