Edge and Lita had a rampant run in the WWE once they were paired together as a couple on screen. They leaned heavily into the Rated R gimmick that they were running with. When Edge successfully cashed in his Money In The Bank briefcase in January of 2006, the two had a live sex celebration on Monday night RAW.
Former WWE writer Christopher DeJoseph made an appearance in a recent episode of Stories With Brisco & Bradshaw. He discussed the notorious “live sex celebration” between Edge and Lita on Monday Night Raw in January 2006.
Edge had just won the title from John Cena and cashed in the Money in the Bank. We were in a meeting with Vince and he said, ‘Well what would you do if you won the title and you’re Edge?’ and I said, ‘I would have sex with my girlfriend in the middle of the ring for everybody to see.’ So that’s kind of how that live sex celebration thing happened.

It has been a topic of conversation lately regarding how the booking of this segment was handled as Lita has stated repeatedly it was a do it or be fired situation. Many believed it to be Vince McMahon’s idea but it turns out a member of the writing was to blame for the idea.
