KUSHIDA has returned to NJPW.
At the end of the June 21 New Japan Road event, KUSHIDA made his return to the company, confronting IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Taiji Ishimori. Ishimori had just successfully defended his title against Hiromu Takahashi in the main event.
KUSHIDA originally left Japan to sign with the WWE in 2019 where he would become the Cruiserweight Champion at one point. He would leave the promotion in April of this year following his contract expiring. KUSHIDA is also a six time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion.
