Tony Khan Wants To Host An AEW Tournament In Japan
It looks like Forbidden Door isn’t the only show Tony Khan wants to have with regards to the Japanese pro wrestling fanbase.
This Sunday, we will see the first PPV co-ran by AEW and NJPW as Forbidden Door goes down in Chicago. The card is absolutely stacked, with more still to come. With names like Bryan Danielson and Kazuchika Okada not yet announced for the event, time will tell how big of a card this will become in the coming days.
Tony Khan told Tokyo Sports that he would love to host an AEW tournament in Japan:
“I haven’t held a tournament in another country yet, but I want to try to deliver AEW to the world. Of course, I want to do a tournament in Japan, and if I want to do it, I want to invite a lot of new Japanese wrestlers. Japan is definitely included in the list of countries where I want to do an AEW tournament,”

With the card happening this week, it is incredibly likely that we will see more Japanese stars showing up on tonight’s AEW Dynamite, looking for a match with some of AEW’s best. Time will tell if Tony Khan will host a tournament in Japan, but here’s hoping.
