Rhea Ripley Likely Has A Concussion, Not Expected To Miss Much Time
It appears Rhea’s “brain injury” has been revealed.
This Monday on RAW we found out that Rhea Ripley was hurt and would not be medically cleared to face Bianca Belair at Money In The Bank at the beginning of next month. Rhea revealed on Instagram that she is currently suffering from a brain injury and that is why she is off TV for the next few weeks.
On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez discussed Rhea’s status. Her brain injury is most likely a concussion.
“Her teeth were knocked loose in a match and she had braces put in. The braces were evident on her the last time she was on TV. But, the other thing must’ve been, you know, when she says her brain, that usually means a concussion. As we’ve said before, you know, we said it on Monday when we announced it. The two things that WWE doesn’t like to talk about are COVID and concussions. I’ve known people in WWE who have both who have [said] outright, ‘We’re told not to say that.’ So, she said it. She didn’t quite use the word concussion, but she had a brain injury is what she said…”
“She’s not going to be on the pay-per-view, obviously. They made that very clear, but it’s not expected to be a long-term absence either. She’s expected to be back very soon.”
Dave Meltzer on The Wrestling Observer
Hopefully Rhea will be back in the ring soon. As for now, Bianca Belair is set to face Carmella at Money In The Bank at the start of July. Carmella won a fatal five way on Monday’s RAW to earn the shot at the champion, pinning Liv Morgan.
