Fightful recently spoke to Miro and transcribed what was talked about. The report is as followed:
Fightful spoke to Miro for a new interview, and he cast some light on his AEW deal and return. Miro said that he’d tweaked his hamstring and was going to take a little time off last year. However, he got the call to face Orange Cassidy and accelerated the injury to the point it “ripped.” He took on Bryan Danielson and rested up for a couple of months. Miro believed he was coming back in January when the vignettes aired, but he noted that AEW’s roster is so loaded that once you’re out of the wheel, sometimes it’s hard to fit back in. He said he’s very happy to be back. Fightful had reported that Miro signed a new AEW contract recently, and that Miro had an unusually short deal with the company prior. He said that he originally gave AEW and Tony Khan a discount because of the nature of the pandemic. Miro noted that initially AEW was paying for the “Twitch guy,” and now they’re paying for the “Redeemer,” and the short deal was so he could prove things during the pandemic and get a bigger payday when his deal came due. He said that the conversations with AEW were very good and they wanted him long-term. Miro said that he sometimes get recognized from chiropractic videos with Beau Hightower, or as “CJ Perry’s husband” from Total Divas. He said he’d be open to doing another reality show in the future, and plans to continue acting. He said that he’s always been open to working New Japan Pro Wrestling, but couldn’t as a free agent due to the pandemic. He was excited to work Tomohiro Ishii specifically, and is a little bummed out about Ishii’s injury. He wasn’t as familiar with Clark Connors, but was impressed with what he’s seen.
