Vince Russo Doubts Cody Rhodes As A Title Challenger For Roman Reigns
It looks like the former writer does not have faith in Cody Rhodes as a title contender.
Earlier this month, Cody Rhodes suffered a completely torn off the bone pectoral muscle. He has since had surgery and is at home rehabbing. WWE stated he would be out of action for nine months, with many doubting that timetable, including Rhodes himself. Rhodes is currently the odds on favorite to win the 2023 Royal Rumble match.
While speaking with Wrestle Buddy, Vince Russo talked about Cody Rhodes being a credible opponent for Roman Reigns. Russo then expressed his doubt over Rhodes’ ability to draw the masses.
“I think from a business point of view, bro, [Cody] went back there and got a hell of a lot more money, man. So, I think he did really really really good for himself. But again, bro, I’m just going to go right back to the well. I don’t think Cody Rhodes draws the masses. I just don’t, bro. The hardcores love him. A mass audience, I don’t think he’s the guy, bro.”

With how Cody has been booked since returning to the WWE, he has quickly become one of the top babyfaces in the company, with many wanting to see Rhodes square off with Roman Reigns. Russo may not think it, but it appears WWE feel the opposite for Cody.
