Tony Khan Details How Bryan Danielson Was Taken Out Of Forbidden Door
Bryan Danielson did not compete at AEW x NJPW’s Forbidden Door Pay-Per-View, instead Claudio Castagnoli made his debut to challenge Zack Sabre Jr.
On the post Forbidden Door Media Scrum, Tony Khan detailed talking to Bryan Danielson on the phone and finding out he was not 100%, and he replaced him with Claudio.
As long as Bryan is okay that’s the most important thing and I think he will be fine. […] I talked to Bryan on the phone last weekend and he told me he didn’t think he was feeling 100%, and as soon as he said that, I said like, we’re 8 days from the PPV, but if you’re not feeling 100% today don’t even think about wrestling at the PPV, don’t even think about wrestling at blood and guts cause he had been feeling very well, I talked to him on the phone, and he was doing great and he was so optimistic and he was like that fired up Bryan Danielson we all know, right? He wanted to go. He was like “I feel great!” And he hadn’t done anything since Double or Nothing and he really was optimistic and then I didn’t even want to take another chance as soon as he said that. So, he mentioned Claudio and it’s, I said it’s funny because I had Claudio under contract and I hadn’t told anybody, you’re the first person I mentioned it too, so, I think that’s going to work out real nice for all of us, and you’re going to be okay and he’s going to do great, so it worked out.

Hopefully Bryan is soon 100% and everything is back to normal. We wish a speedy recovery to Bryan Danielson.
