Wardlow discusses comparisons with one of his biggest heroes.
It is well documented that Wardlow is a huge fan of Batista. The former WWE star has transitioned excellently into Hollywood, which is one thing Wardlow also wants to achieve. Wardlow has commented in the past about comparisons to Batista how his push to the top of AEW mirrors Batista’s rise to the top of the WWE.
During a virtual signing with K&S WrestleFest, Wardlow further discussed comparisons to Batista:
“I am always very flattered with comparisons to Batista. Of course, I have to have some more confidence, so I’ll go out on a limb and say that I am better than Batista, which I know is a hell of a statement, but any comparisons to him are honestly flattering. I was a huge Batista fan. Very much a large reason why I’m sitting here talking to you today.”

While Wardlow believes its flattering to be compared to Batista, he may draw the ire of some fans for suggesting he is better than The Animal. Time will tell how Wardlow’s push in AEW will compare to Batista’s.
