Fans “Left In Droves” During This Week’s AEW Rampage Main Event
It looks like many fans had to tap out of the long AEW tapings.
For those unaware, an event for AEW on Wednesday’s usually features two taped portions and a live Dynamite. Usually, Dark Elevation is taped prior to the live Dynamite, with Rampage being taped immediately after. This leads to fatigue many a time with crowds, due to the long time and oversaturation they face.
Dave Meltzer reported on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio that fans were leaving in droves during the main event. While The Young Bucks and the Royal Rampage battle royal got good reactions, the last match between Nyla Rose and Toni Storm couldn’t keep a lot of people’s attention. Storm would win the match with a DDT and be attacked by Marina Shafir after the match, with AEW Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa making the save.
“A lot of people left – a lot, a lot of people left during the Nyla Rose/Toni Storm match. And I heard the Bucks match with Yoshi-Hashi and Hirooki Goto, they had a hard time getting the crowd but because they had such a good match they did get the crowd. The (Royal Rampage) Battle Royal, I heard the crowd was very into though.”

Of course, with the two more important matches out of the way, many fans would have opted to go home prior to Nyla Rose vs Toni Storm. What do you think? Were the fans wrong to leave early? Let us know in the comment section and on our social media pages.
