Israel Adesanya on Fighting Alex Pereira in the UFC: “He who laughs last, laughs best. I’m going to have the last laugh.”

The UFC Middleweight champion has his hands busy this weekend, but that hasn’t stopped him from thinking about a fight with a former foe.

Israel Adesanya is scheduled to defend his championship against Jared Cannonier this weekend at UFC 276, a former opponent of his by the name of Alex Pereira is battling Sean Strickland on the same card with hopes that it leads to a championship bout with the two before the end of the year and if Adesanya-Pereira can both walk out with their hands held high.

The Middleweight champion had this to say about potentially fighting Pereira in the future.

During their time in GLORY Kickboxing, Pereira defeated Adesanya twice, once by decision in their first bout and the second by knockout which led to that being Adesanya’s last GLORY bout before signing in December of 2017 with the UFC.

This is what Pereira had to say about Adesanya’s comments about “pillow gloves” in Kickboxing.

Adesanya strongly believes he is going to make Pereira regret everything he asked for if the two stepped in the octagon together and looks like he would be ready to say yes to a fight once Saturday is over with.
