Max Holloway on Jose Aldo: “He Still has Records to Beat for Someone to be the Goat”
The former Featherweight champion had this to say about Jose Aldo.
Max Holloway is scheduled this weekend to fight Alexander Volkanovski, while speaking with the media, Holloway spoke about a former king of the division (Aldo) where he had a lot of praise to give to the man he beat twice for the gold.
This isn’t the first time Holloway has given praise to Aldo, on the Joe Rogan Podcast Holloway spoke about how he learned to fight by playing as Jose Aldo in video games and mimicking the moves he learned.
Aldo lost to Luciano Azevedo in 2005, this would lead to them 18-fight win streak over the likes of Jonathan Brookins, Rolando Perez, Cub Swanson, Mike Brown, Urijah Faber, Kenny Florian, Ricardo Lamas, Chad Mendes, Chan Sung Jung and Frankie Edgar before losing the to Conor McGregor for the title in 2015.
Aldo holds the record for most successful and consecutive title defenses in UFC Featherweight history with 7 and has left behind a legacy that will be remembered.
Don’t miss UFC 276 this weekend as Holloway looks to reclaim the Featherweight gold for a second time when he fights Volkanovski in a trilogy for the UFC Featherweight championship.
