It looks like The Acclaimed and Daddy Ass will stay paired up.
Last night on AEW Dynamite, we saw Danhausen pick two partners to face Max Caster and The Gunn Club. These partners would turn out to be FTR and after a successful win for Danhausen, all hell would break loose. The Gunn Club were upset that Bowens had cost them the match and after a brief shoving match, Billy Gunn shoved his own son to the ground. Billy’s son’s would both leave the ringside area, leaving Billy Gunn standing with The Acclaimed.
Dave Meltzer discussed the future of the storyline between the Gunn Club and The Acclaimed on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio. With Billy Gunn being annoyed by his own sons’ ridiculous stupidity, it looks like Max Caster and Anthony Bowens will eventually turn face. That appears to be the ultimate conclusion of the angle.
“They’ve been sort of building to that, where the whole comedy of the pairing was that Billy treated The Acclaimed like they were his sons and the other guys were like, you know, he was just annoyed by their stupidity throughout the whole thing. Yeah, so it looks like Billy Gunn with The Acclaimed… In the end, The Acclaimed are going to end up as babyfaces. I mean, it’s very clear.”

Time will tell how this storyline will continue but for now it looks like AEW have decided having The Acclaimed as babyfaces would be the best idea long term for the tag team. How Billy Gunn will fit into that remains to be seen.
