Sonya Deville Says She’s Never Faced Homophobia In WWE
This past month has been Pride month and as such Sonya Deville has been interviewed several times to celebrate as one of the only out members of the WWE roster.
While some former stars such as Jaxson Ryker have been more than open about their homophobia since leaving the promotion, nowadays it is very unlikely that any form of bigotry would be allowed within the confines of the company.
While speaking on Busted Open, Sonya Deville stated she has never faced any homophobia in WWE.
“I think I’m the first openly out female in the WWE. I know Darren Young was an out male before me and he certainly, you know, shared his story and laid some groundwork for me. I think the environment has changed a lot and I’ve never had any negative experiences backstage or within the company, I can honestly say.”

Deville has been moved to the SmackDown roster as of late and she wrestled a handicap match vs Lacey Evans and Raquel Rodriguez this past week on the blue brand.
