Miro Discusses Why He Wanted To Sign A Multi-Year Deal With AEW

Miro wanted to stay with AEW due to his new character.

Since signing with AEW, Miro has been booked as a credible monster heel. He has been unlucky with injuries that have stalled his momentum, but his character work continues to catch the eye of fans.

While speaking with “WhatCulture”, Miro talked about signing with AEW. The Redeemer explained why he signed a long-term deal with AEW. It was ultimately due to his Redeemer character.

“I just told Tony, ‘Now, this is what we’ll do. I’m going to be me.’ And because he’s a great boss, he let me run with the ball. He gave me the ball and said, ‘Do what you’ve got to do.’ And I’m doing exactly that. He’s not there, he’s not telling me not to smile, not to look at the people, not to do this and that. He’s given me a clean go and that’s what I’m doing. That’s why I signed a multi-year deal because he let me do all these opportunities. If it was the situation like before, that would’ve never happened.”

Of course, Miro has been TNT champion since signing with the promotion. It is expected he will one day be AEW World Champion but for now, Miro will look to recover momentum following Forbidden Door.
