It appears Theory may have always been the planned winner for the Money In The Bank ladder match.
Prior to the main event starting on Saturday, Adam Pearce would walk out and announce that there would be one more competitor in the men’s Money In The Bank ladder match and it turned out to be Theory, who had lost the US title earlier in the night. Theory would go on to win the match.
Ringside News have now reported when it was known Austin Theory would win Money In The Bank. It seemed that Theory was a last-minute replacement, since he was added right before the match started.
We were told that Theory was always the winner. That being said, it was always in the plan for Theory to drop the United States Title before snatching the Money in the Bank briefcase to close out the show.
