Liv Morgan winning the MITB and later that night the SD women’s championship was a moment WWE fans waited for a long time. Morgan has been a fan-favorite for a very long time due to multiple reasons. Social Media went nuts once Morgan was able to win the SD women’s championship.
While Morgan winning is a good-feel moment for all WWE fans. While excitement is in the air for this, but a question about Morgan’s title run has to be asked. Is this a real push?
Pushes in WWE are very weird due to how inconsistent the booking is, and also the fact that most of the times there isn’t a long-term plan for title holders. Liv Morgan’s title run could be on the same path, and there’s indications this could be the case.
A few months ago, wrestling twitter were excited that Ricochet would get a push. Everything looked great when he won the IC championship, even though the IC championship hasn’t mean much in a VERY LONG TIME. Ricochet’s run as IC champion was disappointing and yet not surprising, he barely had TV matches, and let alone PPV matches.
Morgan could be in danger of having a title run similar to that of Ricochet, especially when you realize what the current state of the SD women’s division is right now. The booking also doesn’t help.
Only time will tell if WWE will actually push Morgan, or if this is just her turn on the spotlight and then she goes back to midcard.
