Tanahashi went to AEW for Forbidden Door week, and came back with a positive look on some AEW talent
As we saw, Hiroshi Tanahashi showed up at AEW to take on Jon Moxley for the interim AEW Championship at Forbidden Door. He also wrestled a tag team match with Moxley on AEW TV and did several other promo spots. After returning back to Japan, there was two stars in particular who left an impression on Tanahashi. He recently spoke on an episode of his “Podcast Off!” show and discussed two AEW talents that impressed him greatly. One star that stood out to Tanahashi was PAC, but Tanahashi admittedly couldn’t remember his name. But there was another star who made Tanahashi think he’d get a great reaction in the Tokyo Dome, and that’s Orange Cassidy. @Reasonjp on twitter translated what he had to say;
Orange Cassidy wrestled Will Ospreay at Forbidden Door, which got a lot of praise, as well as being many fans’ match of the night. Though Orange didn’t get the win, he truly left an impression on The Ace. NJPW’s president, Takami Ohbari, recently showed interest in bringing Forbidden Door 2 to Japan. If it happened to be in the Tokyo Dome, maybe we’d see Orange Cassidy vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi!
