Tommy Fury Out of Fight, Jake Paul Looking for New Opponent
The anticipated boxing bout between Jake Paul vs. Tommy Fury is no longer happening again.
Paul released a tweet on the 3rd of July stating that if Fury didn’t go to the embassy then the fight would be terminated.
Paul would release another tweet today stating he was sending a termination notice to Fury to inform them that the fight is no longer happening
Last week Fury announced he was denied entry into the US for undisclosed reasons, the reasons being found out later were because of the association the family has to a notorious organized crime boss Daniel Kinahan which has led to US officials placing a travel ban on any fighters, managers, and promoters with ties to them. Including the Fury brothers.
Tommy released a statement following the cancelled bout, saying he is gutted and disappointed, he is confident this fight will happen when all issues are resolved, he also let it be known he is open to fighting in any neutral country that both parties can enter.
According to Chris Mannix, Paul is reportedly now in talks to face Hasim Rahman Jr as a replacement for Tommy Fury on Aug 6th. Rahman Jr is 12-1 as a pro and son of former heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman. It’s claimed they are in the process of “finalising a deal”.
