The Bunny Talks About The Progress Of Women’s Wrestling Throughout The Years

Allie ‘The Bunny’ is currently working in AEW for their women’s division.

Women’s wrestling is constantly a hot topic in the wrestling world, with some of the best wrestlers in the world being women. But, it wasn’t always that way. The Bunny sat down with Global News Toronto to speak about a few different topics like wrestling alongside her husband, nerves, WWE/AEW comparisons and the progression of women’s wrestling. When asked about how much progress there has been for women in wrestling, The Bunny had this to say;

Oh my gosh, huge, huge progress. I came into the business in 2004 and even then it was a very different time. I remember, you know, there was a lot of weird catcalling and things like that from the audience back then, and now, I feel like the audience is very excited for women’s wrestling and, you know, they respect us more, and we’re given more opportunities now and it has really grown to be special for the women and the business.

Women in wrestling get more spotlight now than they have in the past, even getting involved in hardcore style matches like Allie did when she teamed with Penelope Ford to take on Anna Jay and Tay Conti in a bloody street fight back in December on AEW Rampage. There’s still more room to grow for women in wrestling but progress has certainly been made. You can see the full interview below.
