The UFC has set up a headline bout between two top UFC strawweight contenders.
Mackenzie Dern will get her second main event when she challenges Yan Xiaonan in the main event of a UFC Fight Night on October 1st The location for the event has yet to be determined.
Dern (12-2 MMA, 7-2 UFC) is coming off a decision win over Tecia Torres at UFC 273 in April. The victory put Dern back in the winners circle as she had previously lost to Marina Rodriguez, a defeat that cut a four-fight winning streak short.
Xiaonan (15-3 MMA, 6-2 UFC) looks to bounce back. The Chinese fighter is on a two-fight losing streak, coming up short against new champion Carla Esparza and top contender Marina Rodriguez. Prior to the pair of defeats, Xiaonan was unbeaten in her past 13 bouts.
