Wilson Reis Signs Multi-Fight Deal with Cage Warriors
The former Flyweight title contender is going back to the promotion that led to his UFC arrival.
Wilson Reis, who is 37 and has spent almost a decade with the UFC has decided to ink the deal to stay with Cage Warriors. Reis first competed there prior to his UFC signing in 2013, he defeated Owen Roddy in the 3rd by way of submission.
Upon signing with the UFC, Reis went 6-2 prior to his first crack at then-champion Demetrious Johnson in a main event in April 2017. Johnson submitted Reis in the third round. This would lead to losses vs. eventual two-division champion Henry Cejudo and John Moraga before Weis got his first win in over a year against Ben Nguyen prior to losing his final bout in the promotion to Alexandre Pantoja at UFC 236 in April 2019.
Reis has gone 2-2 since then, including a split decision win over Jeremiah Labiano at Cage Warriors 133 in San Diego in March, his first fight for the promotion in more than nine years.
