Kevin Nash is known as a lot of things: Big Sexy, Big Daddy Cool, a former 3x World Champion, a member of the infamous Kliq. One thing he is not as well known as, but maybe he should be, is a political aficionado.
Nash is a self-professed ‘news junkie’ and he has never been shy to offer his opinion on any subject. This is why it shouldn’t be surprising that in the first episode of his new podcast, Kliq This with co-host Sean Oliver, it didn’t take the former Diesel long at all to offer up his opinion on some current events taking place in the world of politics.
Oliver brought up the fact that the Dallas Cowboys have partnered with Black Rifle Coffee, a veteran-owned, pro-gun coffee company that sells roasts called ‘AK Espresso,’ ‘Murdered Out’ and ‘Silencer Smooth.’ The Cowboys announced their partnership the day after a mass shooting in Highland Park, Illinois during an Independence Day Parade. Nash admitted that he had an interest in guns, but that the need for high-powered assault rifles might be a bit much.
“I’m a huge gun guy. But when it comes down to it, an AR-15 is not a good hunting weapon. I mean, anybody that knows what that round does, if you were to shoot a deer with it, you’re gonna end up eating sh*t by the time the bullet comes out his ass. It’s just not a weapon [you use for hunting].”
Oliver responded, saying that nobody says AR-15’s are used for hunting, but Nash disagreed. “Maybe you need to talk to our girl Greene from Georgia,” Nash laughed. “It’s her favorite hunting weapon. How much stupid can you put in a human being?”
Oliver also brought up Nash’s pro-choice stance, given the recent overturning of Roe v. Wade.
“You just take the woman and take her body and she has no say on what happens to her body? If I had to sum it up, it’s real simple: If you don’t believe in abortion, don’t have one. But for a 10-year-old girl in Ohio to get raped and miss the six-week cutoff by three or four or five or six days, whatever it is…She’s basically at this point now told by Ohio that she’s gotta go term at 10 years old with a rapist’s child, with a rapist’s baby inside of her. And she has to go to Indianapolis to have a the abortion. Like, f*ckin’ really? When are we gonna put women in burkha’s around this mother f*cker?”
Nash also commented on the recent House Republican debate that took place in Wyoming between Congresswoman Liz Cheney, Trump-endorsed Harriet Hageman, and more. Cheney, the Republican representative of Wyoming in Congress drew the ire of her fellow Republicans when she voted to impeach Donald Trump. Since then, she’s been in the crosshairs of Trump himself, and of all of his supporters, including nominee Hageman.
“It used to be that a Republican could have a debate with actual Republicans,” Nash offered. “I watched what I could of the Liz Cheney debate in Wyoming and I mean, I thought it was a sitcom. As far as I’m concerned, if Liz Cheney runs for president and she runs against Biden, I’ll vote for Liz Cheney. I’m a Democrat, but I’m a centralist Democrat. It’s just like, I know she’ll get sh*t done because you know why? It’s because if she’s gotta go to the batphone, it’ll be to Dick.”
Nash concluded the political portion of his podcast by saying that he, himself, had no political aspirations because if he didn’t think he’d be good at something, he wouldn’t want to do it. Nash also noted that it’s impossible for politicians to be successful in this current climate.
Nash commented to say that many Americans are just uninformed, simply because they don’t have the time to watch the news, because they’re working two or three jobs just to be able to take care of themselves and their families.
