Vince McMahon Does Not Allow WWE Referees To Have Visible Tattoos
Mike Chioda explains a no-no in Vince McMahon’s books.
Vince McMahon has a series of rules that many fans find themselves questioning whenever they are revealed to the public. Some phrases Vince does not like get banned, with commentators being explicitly told not to use certain words to describe superstars and championships.
On his latest “Monday Mailbag” podcast, Mike Chioda spoke with co-host Paul Bromwell about McMahon not allowing referees to sport tattoos during matches. Chioda said that he needed to cover his tattoos up with his sleeve.
That’s a no-no. Can’t be wearing sleeves, can’t have tats on the arms. I have one on my arm up here, but my sleeve always covered it.

With WWE referee’s being the third man in professional wrestling matches, it is understandable that McMahon will want them looking as uniform as possible in their roles as the official. Time will tell if this will be a rule that McMahon one day leaves in the past.
