Hiroshi Tanahashi Would Like To Work With Yuke’s Again
Yuke’s has worked on a lot of popular video games, especially in the wrestling world.
Yuke’s produced many WWE video games and now are working with AEW to create the AEW Fight Forever game. In 2005 until 2012, Yuke’s had part ownership of New Japan Pro-Wrestling and developed the NJPW: Toukon Retsuden series in the 90s. Speaking as part of his Ace’s HIGH series on NJPW’s website, Hiroshi Tanahashi looked back on NJPW’s relationship with Yuke’s and said he’d like to work with them again in the future.
I’m really grateful for Yuke’s as well. Back at this press conference [Bushiroad purchasing NJPW press conference] I remember saying to their Chairman, Taniguchi-san ‘Thank you for rescuing our company. I hope I can repay that debt someday’. I’m sad we haven’t been able to do that yet, but I hope that sometime we can have a full on collaboration again, like having the old Tokon Retsuden video games.
– Hiroshi Tanahashi
On July 16th, Tanahashi will compete in NJPW’s G1 Climax 32 Tournament.
