Goldberg Discusses Bret Hart Still Holding A Grudge Regarding WCW Superkick Botch In 1999

Bret Hart holds a grudge, what can you say?

Bret Hart and Goldberg have a rocky history. While Bret worked with the former WCW Heavyweight Champion, there were issues surrounding several of their matches. However, one of the most notable examples of the two working together and it not going well, Hart suffered a concussion after Goldberg hit him with a botched kick during a match at Starrcade in 1999.

While speaking on The Michael Kay Show, Goldberg was asked about the incident with Bret Hart. Goldberg made it clear he is disappointed that Bret Hart still believes he intentionally injured him.

“When an accident happens and you tell your side of the story and nobody believes it, especially the person negatively affected by it, yeah it sucks. I will take it to my grave because I am sure that he will never forgive me.”

“What else can I say? I said I was sorry and that it was unintentional, it was the furthest thing from my mind, I dont know, a million times? And of those a million times, he’s come back with, ‘Yes, was intentional, he’s a punk, he didn’t know what he was doing and ruined my career.”

Due to the botched move, Bret suffered with post concussion syndrome, leading to Hart hanging up his boots sooner than he’d hoped.
