Update On Sasha Banks Taking Bookings
Sasha Banks has taken a signing booking for C2E2.
C2E2 is running August 5th through 7th. They have announced that on that Saturday and Sunday, Mercedes Varnado, aka Sasha Banks, is booked for signings. This marks Sasha’s first signing and appearance of any kind since rumors of her release from WWE. Naturally, it turned many heads, questioning weather this could mean Sasha is really gone from the company. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select has some more info regarding all these surrounding questions. The report reads as followed;
Mercedes Varnado made headlines Wednesday when she was announced for C2E2. The move prompted many wrestling conventions to reach out to the performer also known as Sasha Banks, with them noting that it couldn’t happen until 2023. We also reached out to other convention organizers who confirmed they reached out to her reps, and were quoted a firm, specific rate. However, wrestling-related promoters that attempted to book her were told that she was only taking non-wrestling related bookings until January 1. WWE have still not officially confirmed her release publicly, or to Fightful. One promoter that reached out said they “can’t imagine her not being released at this point.” Talent we followed up with are also under this impression, still. From an official capacity, nothing has changed. We weren’t told if her not accepting wrestling related bookings is a personal preference or tied to something contractual, but have exhausted sources to find out.

In many eyes, this is seemingly one huge step closer to Banks actually being gone from WWE. Again, nothing is official as of now from Sasha herself or WWE, but, it’s not looking to lean towards her staying.
