Triple H Has Not Been Directly Involved In NXT 2.0, Shawn Michaels Continues To Run Brand

It appears when Triple H said he was back, he meant he was back working in the office.

NXT 1.0 was Triple H’s baby. The black and gold brand became a third brand for the WWE during his time at the helm of the developmental brand. Since shifting to 2.0, NXT has returned to a developmental brand first. A few weeks back, Triple H came to the WWE PC and announced that he was “back.”

In this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that Triple H has nothing to do with NXT directly. The show is still being run by Shawn Michaels and a small creative team while Paul Levesque works in the office.

“It appears that when Paul Levesque was talking to the folks at NXT and said he was back, and nobody knew what that meant, it appeared just to mean he’s back working in the office. He has not been doing anything direct with NXT, which is still being run by Shawn Michaels with a small creative staff for television. Levesque has not been at the Tuesday night tapings.”

While his wife Stephanie McMahon has been appointed interim CEO and Chairwoman, it appears that Triple H will not retake control of NXT as originally speculated.
