Three Fights To Look Out For: UFC On ABC 3 – Long Island
UFC Long Island is headlined by Brian Ortega vs. Yair Rodriguez, which is sure to be a firecracker of a main event. But, we’re gonna take a look at three fights you may not be looking at, but should be watching out for. This is the third time UFC will be live on ABC to watch for free with the prelims on ESPN. Without waiting anymore, here’s three fights to look out for on UFC Long Island.
Da Un Jung vs. Dustin Jacoby
Someone’s win streak will come to an end in this one. Jung is riding a 15 fight no loss streak with 14 wins and 1 draw. Jung has not been defeated since 2015 and has finished 12 of his last 14 wins. The probability that he’s coming to get a finish is super high. But, as I said, someone’s streak has to end. Across the cage from Jung is Dustin Jacoby who’s riding a 8 fight no loss streak and also hasn’t lost since 2015. This is Jung’s first fight of the year while Jacoby just picked up a win in March. Tune into the UFC Long Island prelims, because you’re not going to want to miss this one!
Jack Shore vs. Ricky Simon
How this fight is on the prelims is mind blowing. Jack Shore is 16-0 in his career and his last victory was in March of this year. Jack also fought on the last UFC on ABC card where he won in a split decision. He won’t have an easy task ahead of him to keep his streak alive, because he’s going head-to-head with Ricky Simon who’s riding a four fight win streak with a record of 19-3, his last win coming by way of second round knockout at the end of last year. Ricky is looking to extended his streak to five wins, while Jack is looking to keep his undefeated streak intact. Keep your eyes peeled on this one. This is the second to last prelims fight!
Shane Burgos vs. Charles Jourdain
If there was ever a fight you need to look out for, it’s this one. Everyone who knows, knows why, but if you don’t, let me explain. Shane Burgos is never in a boring fight, he brings the energy every time he’s stepped into the cage. He’s been in the UFC since 2016 and hasn’t stopped bringing the excitement. His last fight was in November of 2021 where he defeated Billy Quarantillo in one of the best fights of last year. The hype level is high when ‘Hurricane’ Shane steps in the octagon. But, he’s facing another entertaining fighter in Charles ‘Air’ Jourdain who is riding a two fight win streak with his most recent win coming by way of submission in round one, which was in April of this year. Seven of his last eight wins have come by KO or Submission, and I have a feeling he’s looking to get another finish and make a huge statement in this fight. This fight will be on the main card, which is free on ABC! Don’t take your eyes off the screen for this fight!
UFC Long Island prelims will be available on ESPN starting at 11am est, while the main card will be available on the ABC network at 2pm est. This is the third installment of UFC on ABC. Don’t miss it, it’s sure to be one of the most exciting fight night cards, especially with the return of Yair Rodriguez vs. Brian Ortega in the main event slot. The hype is real!
