Cody Rhodes Was Told To Save Pectoral Injury Reveal For During Hell In A Cell Match
Cody Rhodes was told to wait till he was in the ring to reveal his injuries.
Prior to Hell In A Cell last month it was revealed Cody Rhodes had suffered a torn pectoral muscle but planned to still compete at the event vs Seth Rollins. Rhodes would go on to have an incredible match with Rollins, but the big moment of the match came when Cody removed his robe and revealed how much bruising was on his right side.
Speaking to ComicBook, Cody discussed the big reveal.
“No one saw it, other than, I think Vince (McMahon) saw it. I was going to take my robe off for cameras, and the voice of God, whoever is head of production in that moment, I remember them saying, ‘Don’t.’ Stu, the camera operator, told me we were going to save it for the show. Very few people had actually seen it and how bad it was. Through the day, it was getting worse because there was so much blood, so much blood under my skin. I’m almost anemic, so if you chop me or squeeze me, you can see it instantly. Just the perfect person to have their body ripped in half for that moment,”

Clearly, the spot did its job as when Cody revealed the injury, it was like all the air in the arena had been sucked out of the building. Cody Rhodes continues to rehab his torn pec at home following successful surgery.
