HOOK is Champion.
Taz introduced the FTW World Title to AEW back in the pandemic era when he gave the title to Brian Cage. Before that, Taz was the creator of the title and introduced it to ECW in the 90’s. After Brian Cage was kicked out of Team Taz, Ricky Starks won the FTW Title and has now held the belt for over a year, until now. HOOK answered Ricky Starks open challenge for the title on AEW Dynamite and defeated him while his father, Taz, was on commentary. We can only imagine the special father-son moment it had to be for HOOK to win the title that his father created. Now, Taz reacted on twitter to his son winning his first championship by saying he had no words.
Will HOOK go on a streak as long as Ricky did and surpass his reign with the Title? We’ll have to wait and see. Congrats to HOOK and Taz.
