Exclusive: Update On Mance Warner’s AEW Status
Top Independent Wrestling Star Mance Warner has had a hell of a week.
First winning the Bunkhouse Stampede Battle Royal last Sunday Night as part of the Ric Flair’s Last Match event during Starrcast Weekend, and then the Southern Psychopath made his AEW debut defeating Serpentico on Dark and his AEW Television debut on Rampage in a losing effort against Jon Moxley for the AEW Interim World Championship.
As we previously reported AEW had interest in Mancer back in 2020 prior to his release from MLW, and was even backstage for multiple AEW Dynamites. But coming out of Starrcast last weekend with his win at Ric Flair’s Last Match, AEW’s interest in him peaked. Once it was learned Mancer was available for outside bookings, it only served to increase AEW’s interest in the indie standout.
Sources indicated to me that AEW officials were so happy with Warner’s performance and attitude on Wednesday, that he was invited back for Rampage before Dynamite had ended. Additionally, Mancer was placed in a featured spot with Moxley to open the broadcast, which is considered a coveted position, to keep viewers coming out of SmackDown. Mance was also promoted heavily including featuring his promo on their social media.
So far, there is no word yet on whether or not an AEW contract has been offered to Mance Warner, but numerous wrestling companies have expressed interest in The Southern Psycho.
We will keep you updated if we hear anything more about Mance Warner’s status with All Elite Wrestling.
