Kane Re-Elected As Mayor Of Knox County
Glenn “Kane” Jacobs will serve a second term as the mayor of Knox County.
A Republican, the incumbent Jacobs defeated Democratic opponent Debbie Helsley. The Knoxville News Sentinel reported that Jacobs held a 4,400-vote edge over Helsley with 63 percent of the vote counted, enough to project Jacobs as the winner.
Jacobs took to Twitter following the result and thanked the voters of Knox County for re-electing him.
THANK YOU Knox County for electing me to serve a second term as your mayor. I am so grateful for the support you have shown me and my family throughout my campaign for re-election, and will continue to do all I can to serve you to the best of my ability.
