Update On Several WWE Stars Who Are Missing From TV
Where is everyone?
In the last few weeks, it’s safe to say WWE has been chaotic. Especially with the change of management and creative as Vince McMahon retired and Triple H slid in to take over WWE creative on the main roster. Despite the new regime being put in place, there’s been several names noticeably missing on the show, namely the likes of Kevin Owens, Lacey Evans, MVP and Omos. Now, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select has an update on these missing talent.
Kevin Owens was absent from this past week’s episode of WWE Raw, and most weeks of late since Money in the Bank, as is the case with many others.
This left many wondering where Owens was, and what was going on with him. With repeated references over the years of Owens being a “Triple H guy,” fans expected him to be heavily featured on the program. We’ve not heard of an injury or anything of the like. Instead, we’re told that creative is being cooked up for him for plans moving forward.
Triple H, who now heads up creative for WWE, was heading up NXT when Kevin Owens was hired and given a major push on the brand. In addition, he was tied to Owens on screen for his WWE Universal Title win.
In addition, Lacey Evans was pulled from the July 29 episode of Smackdown in which she was scheduled to face Aliyah. On television, it was stated that Lacey Evans wasn’t cleared to compete, but we’ve heard there are no immediate creative plans for her and she wasn’t discussed as being in the gauntlet match. Those we spoke to said that Evans was a personal favorite of Vince McMahon, who was very hands on and worked directly with Evans as she came to Raw. However, we were told that her return this year was “chaotic and directionless,” as played out on TV.
Omos has not been featured on WWE Raw the last several weeks, but is still on the road with WWE and being managed by MVP. He faced Ezekiel on Monday’s tapings of WWE Main Event. We’re told that several talent are in the same boat as they wait to learn their directions under the new regime, and several have also had meetings directly with Triple H about it.
