The former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions are on opposite brands on the main roster but that doesn’t stop Raquel Rodriguez wanting to reunite with Dakota Kai.
Dakota Kai returned at Summerslam two weeks ago and has been on RAW with Bayley and IYO SKY since. Raquel Rodriguez on the other hand has been on SmackDown for quite some time.
Speaking to Denise Salcedo at the WrestleMania 39 Launch Party in California, Raquel says that she’s so happy to see her friend back in WWE but is sad that they are not on the same brand currently. However, she is hopeful for a reunion one day.
“I’m so excited and happy for her because she is an absolute superstar,” she said. “The things that that girl does, the way that she just moves, and walks with confidence. I learned so much from her just being under her wing for so long, you know what I mean? She’s been just a big part of my career as well. So seeing her on Raw just makes me absolutely happy. Am I a little bit sad that she’s not on SmackDown? Yes, but you know what, she’s out there and she’s killing it, and maybe somewhere down the road, we will reunite at some point, I hope.”

Time will tell if Rodriguez will get her wish in the future but for now she will look to become a women’s tag champion alongside Aliyah.
