AJ Styles recalls the advice Brock gave him prior to his match with The Beast at Survivor Series 17′
In a champion vs champion match, AJ Styles went one on one with Lesnar in a match that was well received by many fans. Just under 18 months into his WWE tenure, Styles was in the middle of his second WWE Championship reign when the pair squared off at the big 4 PPV.
Speaking with Inside The Ropes, AJ Styles recalled working with Brock Lesnar and what Brock Lesnar told him about taking one of his German suplexes and avoiding flying outside of the squared circle.
“It was great. We kind of discussed how we wanted the beginning to go and then after, I threw in my two cents. He told me not to jump when he gives me a German or he’d throw me out of the ring. I said, ‘Okay.’ But yeah, I mean, I think Brock showed me a lot of respect in the match that we had, and in telling the story. It was great. I thought it was one of the better matches that I’ve had. I was very happy with it,”
