Things look a lot better for Gunther than when Vince McMahon was still in charge in WWE.
Gunther most recently defended his Intercontinental Championship in the main event of SmackDown this past week against Nakamura that drew praise from many fans. Prior to Vince McMahon’s retirement, reports surfaced stating WWE officials were high on the Intercontinental Champion.
Now, WrestleVotes reports that WWE officials soured on him a month ago after a segment on RAW.
Following his appearance on RAW on 7/4, those in power at the time really soured on Gunther for whatever ridiculous reason. To the point where a burial on TV was coming. Just a month later and quite the difference…

The segment featuring Gunther involved him destroying R-Truth, who was dressed as Uncle Sam at the time.
