Rey Mysterio Still Has Some Of CM Punk’s Hair From Their Feud In 2010
Rey Mysterio kept a souvenir after feuding with CM Punk in 2010.
At WWE Over The Limit in 2010, Punk and Mysterio would face off in a match where if Rey lost, he would join the Straight Edge Society but if Mysterio won, Punk would lose his hair. Mysterio would end up winning the match.
Speaking with Alex McCarthy for Inside The Ropes, Mysterio looked back on the bout and noted that he kept some of the hair because that’s what his uncle, legendary luchador Rey Misterio Sr., taught him to do.
“I still have some of his hair in a little Ziploc bag with the date. That’s what we do in lucha libre. When you have a Mask vs. Mask [match], if you win and you take your opponent’s mask, then you keep it as a trophy. If you have a Mask vs. Hair or a Hair vs. Hair match and you happen to win, I learned this from my uncle, just from growing up in lucha libre, my uncle would collect the hair of his opponent and put it in a little baggie, date it, label it with the opponent, where it was at, and it was kind of like a souvenir, a trophy. So I do have CM Punk’s hair in a little Ziploc bag. It’s in one of my photo albums,”

Mysterio was laid out by Judgement Day on last night’s edition of Monday Night RAW while CM Punk is still the AEW World Champion and recently returned on AEW Dynamite last week.
