CM Punk apparently went off script on AEW Dynamite this past week.
The AEW World Champion opened the show and called out Hangman Adam Page before he got to talking about Jon Moxley. Hangman would not answer the call and now it has revealed the callout wasn’t part of the plan.
Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer discussed the segment on WOR and revealed that it wasn’t the plan for the segment.
“CM Punk thing at the start of the show with Adam Page. That was weird, for everyone — nobody knew he was going to do that If you remember months ago when they were feuding & I said there was a lot of reality to it – well, theres a lot of reality to it”

Alvarez also speculated that Punk went into business for himself in the segment.
Punk will look to unify the interim and full AEW World Titles on next week’s edition of Dynamite when he will go one on one with Jon Moxley.
