It was a rather eventful day for the NXT UK brand. WWE announced in the morning that it will not only be going on hiatus, but re-branding in 2023 as NXT Europe. Not only that, a majority of the talent from the brand was let go. Despite that, the tournament to crown the new NXT UK Champion began on tape delay on Thursday afternoon from the BT Sports Studio on Peacock and the WWE Network.
